Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes prior to painting or decorating
- Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools
- Mixing paints and colours to achieve desired shades and textures
- Protecting furniture, fixtures, and flooring during decorating work
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Assisting with the planning and interpretation of decorating plans or specifications
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred
- Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting equipment or travelling between sites
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for understanding instructions and liaising with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment
- Familiarity with health and safety standards related to painting and decorating activities
