Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily using MIG welding techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation. The position involves working with various hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes to ensure precise and efficient production.
Duties
- Execute MIG welding tasks with proficiency, specialising in MIG welding where required, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components using appropriate welding techniques and hand tools.
- Work with sheet metal and other materials to produce parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, grinding, and finishing welded components.
- Perform routine inspections of welds for quality control and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Assist in the setup of welding equipment and maintain proper calibration for optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG welding.
- Knowledge of welding standards and practices.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and sheet metal work.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Familiarity with the use of welding safety equipment and adherence to health & safety regulations.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
- Previous experience in fabrication or assembly environments is desirable but not essential.
