1 MAIN PURPOSE OR OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB
To orbital weld tube ends on high quality pressure vessels to API661, ASME VIII and ISO 15614-8
2 SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To orbitally weld to coded standard.
· Tube end welding
· Using Polysoude orbital welding equipment
· Fit up tubes to tubeplate
· Clean tubes and tube plate for welding
· Mount the welding head into position
· Start the welding sequence on the laptop
· Keep records of welding logs.
· Service and maintain the orbital welding equipment.
· Help develop weld procedures and perform test pieces
· Use the laptop to control the orbital welding equipment.
3 QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
English and Maths GCSE grade C or above or equivalent.

8 ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Cleanliness of weld joint
· Correct set up of weld joint
· Fitting weld head accurately to tubeplate and tube
· Self-checking weld quality
· Supporting to calibrate equipment
9 MANUAL SKILLS
· Hand to eye coordination
· Use of laptop
· Use of weld set, hand tools, power tools
· Crane
· Tape measure
· Increased manual skills due to TIG welds
10 PHYSICAL EFFORT
· Frequent physical effort.

11 WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working behind mobile weld screens
· Using welding mask
· Using fume extraction
· Working in bay 3 near assembly, paint and flushing operations.
Pay: £13.85-£14.42 per hour
