Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Retail Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assisting customers with their enquiries regarding gardening products, tools, and plants
- Organising and maintaining the retail space to ensure an attractive and accessible display of merchandise
- Providing expert advice on horticulture and gardening techniques where applicable
- Managing stock levels, including replenishing shelves and organising stockrooms
- Supporting merchandising efforts by setting up promotional displays and ensuring product presentation is appealing
- Handling transactions accurately at the till, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Communicating effectively with customers in both English and Spanish (nice-to-have) to enhance customer experience
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the store environment
- Assisting with special projects or events related to gardening or horticulture
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, or related fields (preferred but not essential)
- Strong organisational skills to manage stock and maintain store presentation
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Multilingual abilities are considered a valuable asset for engaging with diverse customer bases
- Good merchandising skills to create attractive displays that promote products effectively
- Customer-focused attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to provide outstanding service
