Working closely with our Transport Office and Warehouse teams, you'll be responsible for delivering and collecting goods safely, efficiently and on time while representing Arcese with professionalism at every customer location.
What You'll Be Doing
As a 7.5 Tonne Driver, you'll play an important role in ensuring our transport operation runs smoothly and our customers receive exceptional service.
Deliveries & Collections
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections safely and efficiently.
- Ensure deliveries are made on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Load and unload vehicles where required, ensuring goods are handled safely and securely.
- Complete delivery paperwork and proof of delivery documentation accurately.
Safety & Compliance
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
- Operate your vehicle safely and responsibly, complying with Driver Hours Regulations and all road traffic legislation.
- Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
Customer Service
- Represent Arcese professionally at every customer site.
- Build positive relationships through excellent customer service.
- Communicate effectively with the Transport Office regarding delivery progress or operational issues.
- Resolve customer queries courteously and professionally wherever possible.
Supporting the Team
- Work closely with the Transport Office and Warehouse teams to deliver an efficient transport operation.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support changing business and customer requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, professional and safety-focused working environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, customer-focused and committed to delivering the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Essential Requirements
✔ Full UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) Driving Licence.
✔ Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
✔ Digital Tachograph Card.
✔ Previous experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles.
✔ Good understanding of Driver Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
✔ Strong customer service and communication skills.
✔ A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
✔ Ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
We'd Love to See
- Experience within palletised distribution, general haulage or multi-drop deliveries.
- Experience using handheld delivery devices or electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems.
- Good geographical knowledge of London, Essex and the South East.
- A flexible and proactive attitude.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
