Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of system architecture for digital solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
- Develop and maintain system integrations using APIs, RESTful web services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles to connect disparate platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, and custom applications.
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including deployment, configuration, and optimization of virtualized environments utilizing VMware, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
- Conduct system administration tasks across operating systems including Windows, Linux, UNIX, and ESXi to ensure high availability and security.
- Implement security best practices by configuring firewalls, VPNs, DNS/DHCP services, and information security protocols to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, C++, VBA, Shell Scripting, and.NET frameworks.
- Utilize DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development workflows.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of complex systems involving SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and web services including SOAP and XML-based protocols.
- Design load balancing strategies with tools like HAProxy or F5 to optimize system performance under varying loads.
- Support system security by configuring firewalls, managing VPN access points, monitoring network traffic for anomalies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in systems engineering with a strong background in system design and architecture across diverse IT environments.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols such as DHCP and DNS management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure; familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi and VMWare vSphere.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, C++, Bash shell scripting; experience with API development using RESTful services or SOAP is essential.
- Strong understanding of operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions; experience with system administration tasks is required.
- Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes), microservices architecture, DevOps practices (Jenkins), version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL/Stored Procedures, PostgreSQL/PostGIS; experience working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues through debugging techniques across multiple platforms; excellent problem-solving skills are vital.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while translating technical concepts into clear language for stakeholders.
