Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved while maximizing manufacturing efficiency. The role coordinates production activities, monitors progress, resolves scheduling issues, and works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and other support functions to ensure the smooth flow of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer delivery requirements and production targets.
- Prepare and issue daily and weekly production schedules, using fixed schedules where possible to optimize efficiency.
- Issue individual staff work schedules and communicate any changes to relevant personnel.
- Monitor production progress against the schedule and identify, resolve, or escalate delays, capacity constraints, and other production issues.
- Escalate scheduling risks promptly and support the implementation of recovery plans to minimize the impact on customer deliveries.
- Ensure all work orders, materials, tooling, and production documentation are available and complete before production begins.
- Maintain the accuracy of production routing and planning data within the Progress+ ERP system.
- Liaise with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other support departments to resolve issues that may affect production or delivery performance.
- Prepare and distribute reports on production performance, schedule adherence, delivery performance, and manufacturing capacity.
- Support forecasting, capacity planning, and customer delivery planning to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning accuracy, production efficiency, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a production planning or manufacturing planning role.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Progress+ experience is advantageous).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Hours - 41.25 can be flexible.
