Technical Sales Estimator
Keighley area, West Yorkshire | Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year, depending on experience
We're recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturer based in the Keighley area of West Yorkshire, for a Technical Sales Estimator. This role bridges engineering and sales you'll prepare accurate quotations and engage with customers to secure new business, interpreting technical requirements, pricing work competitively and building strong customer relationships.
What you'll be doing
● Reviewing customer enquiries, RFQs, drawings and specifications
● Liaising with the production team on manufacturing feasibility, and suggesting alternatives to customers where appropriate
● Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to source cost-effective materials and processing
● Preparing accurate quotations
● Acting as a key point of contact for customers during the enquiry stage
● Following up quotations to maximise conversion to order
● Building relationships with new and existing customers, and attending customer meetings
● Identifying opportunities for additional work with new and existing customers
● Ensuring quotations meet company markup targets, and negotiating pricing where required
● Supporting the company's sales strategy and monitoring competitor and market activity
What we're looking for
● A strong ability to interpret engineering drawings
● A good understanding of manufacturing processes
● Commercial awareness and pricing knowledge
● Strong numerical and analytical skills
● Proficiency in Excel and ERP/CRM systems
● Previous experience quoting in a fast-paced environment
● Strong communication and relationship-building skills
● Detail-orientated, commercially minded and results-driven
● Good time management and organisational skills
Hours
37 hours per week — Monday to Thursday, 8.30am–5.00pm (half hour lunch), and 8.30am–1.30pm on Fridays.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
