We are a small family run business in Malmesbury, Wiltshire and due to continued growth and workload we are currently looking to take on a shotblaster/ spray painter to join our workforce.
We operate within a wide range of works so every day is different and there will be a lot of variety in your work. We tend to operate within a 60 mile radius of our headquarters with most work being much closer so there is not excessive travel, most of the work for this role will be based at our yard in our purpose built building but site work is also required when necessary.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shotblaster / Paint Sprayer to join our team. This role involves preparing surfaces through shotblasting and applying protective or decorative coatings via airless and HVLP spray painting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of painting/coating processes, be comfortable working with various tools, and have experience in industrial and construction painting.
Responsibilities
- Operate shotblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces for painting or coating.
- Apply paint, coatings, or finishes using spray guns and other power tools with precision and consistency.
- Set up and calibrate spray equipment according to project specifications.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Mask off areas efficiently and precisely.
- Maintain and clean all tools, equipment, and work areas regularly to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Assist with surface preparation tasks such as sanding, grinding, or minor fabrication as needed.
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during operation of machinery and handling of materials.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating shotblasting and spray painting equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques.
- Experience with construction site decorating and industrial painting/coating is advantageous.
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and mixing paints or coatings accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to industrial painting and surface treatment processes.
- Forklift experience highly desirable.
- MEWP experience highly desirable.

This is a full time employed position, self employed and subcontractors need not apply.
We offer competitive rates of pay commensurate with ability/experience.
Our working hours are Monday-Friday 7-4:30 with 9hrs paid per day. Overtime paid at 1.5x pay after 39hrs.

Pay: £35,800.00-£42,000.00 per year
