Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to lead our culinary team in a a community and friendly pub in Englefield Green, Egham. Working closely with our Head Chef to produce great food using local and fresh ingredients. In addition to our A La Carte Menu , there are daily specials, that you will work on alongside the Head Chef to deliver fresh ideas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and safety, and managing kitchen operations and designing menus. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase creativity, leadership, and exceptional culinary skills within a dynamic hospitality environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
- Plan and develop innovative menus along with the Head Chef that meet customer preferences and uphold quality standards
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
· Demonstrate a passion to deliver great food consistently.
· You will show a willingness to learn new skills & processes.
· You must be very personable, a team player! A calm & happy team is what we want.
· Ensure compliance with HACCP and food hygiene, health and safety legislation.
Skills
- Excellent skills in food safety standards and hygiene regulations compliance
- Solid background in restaurant experience with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Experience in food service operations including serving and customer interaction
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
- Experience using Rational ovens
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
