Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Team Member to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanour will contribute to our café's welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including kitchen equipment and dining spaces.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times.
- Assist customers with menu selections, providing recommendations and upselling where appropriate.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, utilising basic math skills for till operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of café offerings.
- Willing to use griddle and fryers to cook food for customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a barista or cooking role is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations. (Must have level 2 or willing to complete this)
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a busy setting.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
- A friendly attitude with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers.
