Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Carer to provide overnight support and assistance within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during the night hours and ability to be trained up for medication administration. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
- Medication administration (Training will be provided).
- Assist residents with personal care tasks in accordance with individual care plans
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of residents’ conditions and any incidents during the shift
- Support residents with mobility and repositioning as required
- Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals regarding residents' needs and updates
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and conducive to restful sleep for residents
- Thorough completion of allocated cleaning duties
- Drive or escort residents when necessary, adhering to health and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence preferred but not essential
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to elderly or vulnerable individuals
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate attitude with strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
