Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients to negotiate costs and secure competitive pricing.
- Analyse tenders and assist in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on cost efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to the project.
- Prepare progress reports highlighting financial status, variances, and forecasts for project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant legal regulations related to cost management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
- Good communication skills for effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in all financial documentation.
Pay: £33,278.43-£61,000.00 per year
