Position Overview:
Esquire Menswear is seeking a dynamic, premium-focused Store Manager to oversee daily operations, drive commercial growth, and deliver an exceptional, experience-driven retail environment. Established for over three decades, Esquire is expanding its footprint and transforming the traditional suit purchase into a memorable customer experience.
The ideal candidate will combine strong retail operational capabilities with an capability to build local community engagement, elevate in-store styling standards, and lead a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Performance Management
- Drive store revenue to consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales targets (e.g., maximizing high-value Groom and Groomsmen bookings).
- Train and coach staff to comfortably implement cross-selling techniques, such as outfitting complete wardrobes for wedding weekends and special events.
- Monitor store performance analytics and execute promotional plans effectively.
2. Customer Experience & Brand Identity
- Maintain a premium, confident look and feel in the store that completely aligns with our brand strategy.
- Ensure the shopping environment is experience-led (leveraging in-store activations, high-end styling advice, and impeccable presentation) so that clients leave a lasting impression.
- Oversee visual merchandising standards, ensuring high cohesion across product collections and promotional displays.
3. Operations & Stock Management
- Manage full end-to-end inventory operations using the Epos Now stock management system.
- Conduct strict monthly stocktakes and manage inventory thresholds to ensure core lines (including our major tailoring partners like Marc Darcy and Cavani) maintain optimum levels.
- Oversee internal system updates, basic product database management, and coordinate with fulfillment teams for synchronized inventory tracking.
- Supervise the processing and fulfillment of online orders, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch to maintain a seamless omnichannel customer experience.
4. Staff Training & Development
- Lead ongoing team training programs focused on terminology accuracy, tailoring specifications, and garment alterations.
- Build team confidence regarding brand heritage, storytelling, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Manage staff scheduling, flexibility requirements, and role-specific performance reviews.
5. Digital Engagement & Content Creation
- Direct the creation of high-quality social media content to showcase in-store styling, new arrivals, and the unique Esquire customer experience.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to leverage local store events and community engagement for digital storytelling.
Requirements:
- Proven management experience in premium or luxury retail, ideally within tailoring or formal menswear.
- Strong proficiency with retail technology systems, specifically Epos Now or equivalent cloud-based POS and inventory tools.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with a track record of coaching teams to meet collective targets.
- A strong eye for visual details, fashion styling, and brand representation.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and a creative mindset for producing brand-aligned digital content.
- Flexibility to align with business demands across core operating hours.
