Furniture Delivery Driver
Hours: Varied hours, minimum 40-hour week Vehicle: 3.5 tonne low loader van or smaller
Pay: Excellent rates, quarterly performance bonus, 8% pension after qualifying period
About the Role
We are a growing furniture supplier looking for a reliable, physically fit Furniture Delivery Driver to join our warehouse and delivery team. This is a hands-on role: you'll drive our 3.5 tonne low loader vans to deliver furniture safely to customers, and support the wider warehouse team with loading, assembly, order preparation and stock control between deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery
- Driving to deliver furniture safely and on time into customers homes
- Loading and unloading furniture onto delivery vehicles
- Ensuring furniture is loaded securely to prevent damage in transit
- Manual handling of large and heavy furniture items
- Furniture assembly where required
- Returning and unloading goods or packaging from completed deliveries
- Adhering to all health & safety and manual handling procedures
Warehouse & Loading Support
- Picking, packing and preparing furniture orders for dispatch
- Moving, storing and organising stock safely
- Checking goods for damage and reporting any issues
- Assisting with stock control and inventory checks
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Working closely as part of a team with other drivers and warehouse staff
Requirements
- Full, valid driving licence
- Experience driving 3.5 tonne low loader vans
- Previous warehouse, delivery or loading experience preferred
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Polite, professional and careful approach to handling furniture
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Ability to work well as part of a team with drivers and warehouse staff
