Overview
We are looking for a proactive and organised HR Advisor to join our busy People team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality guidance to staff and managers on a wide range of HR matters, from day-to-day queries to more complex casework. You will support key HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, training, and reporting, while ensuring all activity remains compliant with relevant employment law and organisation policies.
Responsibilities
- Answer everyday staff and manager questions about HR policies, leave, payroll, and benefits.
- Help resolve complex HR queries and escalate issues when needed.
- Keep employee records and HR systems accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Prepare simple HR reports and data to support senior managers.
- Help with hiring, including writing job adverts, arranging interviews, and onboarding new staff.
- Support staff training requests, manage training budgets, and track progress.
- Support staff wellbeing and engagement projects to improve the workplace experience.
- Assist with wider team projects, policy updates, and organisation-wide initiatives.
- Make sure all HR work follows data protection laws and employment regulations.
- Work closely with the wider HR team to deliver a reliable, friendly service.
Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and basic employment law.
- Proven experience giving HR advice and support to staff and managers.
- Confident using HR systems, managing data, and producing simple reports.
- Hands-on experience helping with hiring, interviews, and staff onboarding.
- Strong admin and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- CIPD qualification or structured HR experience is desirable, but not essential.
