Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Waste Management Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety procedures, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Duties
- Collect waste from designated sites using specialised equipment and vehicles
- Transport waste materials to disposal or recycling facilities in a timely manner
- Ensure all waste is handled in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain accurate records of waste collection activities and disposal logs
- Assist with site maintenance and organise waste storage areas effectively
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience
- Previous experience in waste management or a related field is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for operating specialised equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail are important for record keeping and compliance with regulations
- Physical fitness and stamina are essential due to the demanding nature of the role
- Valid driving licence is preferred, with a clean driving record being advantageous
