Ashgate House, a 47 bed nursing home in Chesterfield specialising in advanced end-stage dementia care, is looking for an experienced, compassionate Registered Manager to lead our team. This is a genuine opportunity to lead a home undergoing exciting refurbishment and development, with real scope to help shape its future direction alongside a supportive senior leadership team, and to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home, promoting a positive, professional and person-centred culture.
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements and all relevant health and social care legislation.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessment, medication management and quality assurance, with particular expertise in advanced dementia care.
- Recruit, develop and support your team, maintaining high standards of training and performance.
- Manage budgets, occupancy and operational performance.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, professionals and commissioners, and lead the home through inspections and audits.
About You
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (essential).
- Previous experience and proven sustained track record as a CQC-registered manager of a care or nursing home.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or willingness to work towards this.
- Strong understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding and care governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage change.
- IT literate and confident using digital care systems, with a willingness to embrace new technology — including AI tools — to support care planning, compliance and administration.
- A genuine, caring and person-centred approach to care.
