Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive works scheduler and administrator to join our busy team. This role is ideally suited to someone with strong experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, such as a call centre or reactive service-based setting. Experience within the social housing sector is an advantage.
Our business primarily delivers a reactive maintenance contract servicing over 25,000 properties, so the ability to respond quickly, manage competing priorities, and maintain accuracy under pressure is essential.
Key Duties
- Handling high volumes of incoming and outgoing calls from clients and tenants
- Managing a busy inbox and responding promptly to email enquiries
- Making outbound calls to schedule works, ensuring engineers’ diaries are fully optimised
- Coordinating reactive repairs and planned works appointments
- Liaising with engineers to resolve queries and provide real-time job updates
- Communicating with suppliers via telephone and email to ensure timely delivery of materials/services
- Updating and managing live jobs across multiple online portals and systems
- Providing general administrative and office support as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong call centre or high-volume telephone-based experience (highly advantageous)
- Experience coordinating reactive works and/or planned maintenance contracts (desirable)
- Ability to multitask effectively across multiple systems while handling calls
- Confident, professional, and empathetic telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and remain calm in busy periods
- Good IT skills and confidence navigating various systems simultaneously
- Previous experience within the social housing sector (advantageous but not essential)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
