Job Purpose
The Administrative Assistant – Cabinet Members will provide high-quality administrative, organisational, and coordination support to Cabinet Members and the wider political and democratic services function.
The role will help ensure that Cabinet Members are well supported in managing their schedules, correspondence, meetings, briefings, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient day-to-day administrative support to Cabinet Members
- Manage and maintain diaries, appointments, meetings, and schedules, ensuring competing priorities are effectively coordinated
- Arrange meetings, prepare agendas and supporting information, and coordinate meeting logistics
- Draft, format, proofread, and distribute correspondence, emails, briefing notes, reports, and other documents
- Monitor incoming correspondence and ensure enquiries are logged, prioritised, and responded to or referred appropriately
- Liaise with Council officers, elected members, external organisations, residents, community representatives, and other stakeholders
- Organise travel, visits, events, appointments, and other activities as required
- Assist with the preparation of briefing materials and meeting packs for Cabinet Members
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in accordance with Council procedures and information governance requirements
