About Us
Heden Logistics Ltd is a growing transport and home delivery business operating multi-route contracts across the North West. We pride ourselves on high standards, professionalism and customer service, and we are looking for an experienced Lead Driver / Transport Operations Supervisor to support and help oversee our AIT contract.
This is not just a driving role — it is a hands-on supervisory and leadership role suited to someone with strong transport or final-mile operational experience who can lead from the front, hold standards and take ownership.
You will oversee a team of approximately 20 drivers and crew members, supporting the smooth, safe and compliant running of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily morning briefings and crew readiness checks
- Conduct daily van inspections, defect reporting and compliance checks
- Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, equipped and presented to company standards
- Check crews have all required tools, PPE and delivery equipment
- Oversee route loading standards and dispatch readiness
- Monitor punctuality, attendance and route departures
- Ensure all end-of-day paperwork, KPIs, PODs and WhatsApp compliance submissions are completed accurately
- Carry out spot checks on compliance, delivery standards and customer service
- Check uniform standards, presentation and driver conduct
- Support performance management, issue resolution and day-to-day driver supervision
- Assist with induction, mentoring and training of new crew members
- Liaise with management regarding operational issues, defects, damages, complaints and service improvements
- Help reduce service failures, compliance breaches and operational disruption
- Provide route support and step in operationally when required
- Help maintain a disciplined, professional and accountable culture across the contract
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous transport, logistics or final-mile supervisory experience
- Has led or mentored drivers/crews in a fast-paced operation
- Understands driver compliance, fleet checks, loading standards and route discipline
- Is organised, proactive and solutions-focused
- Can hold people accountable while leading fairly and professionally
- Leads by example and commands respect from teams
- Has a strong “see it, sort it” mindset
- Holds a full UK driving licence
Essential / Preferred Experience
Essential
- Supervisory or team leader experience in transport or delivery operations
- Experience carrying out vehicle / driver compliance checks
- Strong operational and people management skills
Preferred
- 2-man home delivery or final-mile logistics experience
- Experience in a depot supervisor, lead driver or transport management role
- CPC or transport compliance knowledge advantageous (not essential)
Applicants with backgrounds from DHL, DX, ArrowXL, XDP, AIT or similar operations are particularly welcomed.
