Lead Dance Instructor (Newport & South Wales)

MF Dance is looking for a positive, confident and reliable instructor to lead two/three evenings of children’s street dance classes each week.
You will be covering at two of our established school in Newport and to support the expansion across South Wales ( new locations to suit you can be considered). The role is ideal for someone looking for consistent part-time hours that work well alongside another part-time position, freelance work, studies or family commitments or for someone who would love to grow a dance career full time with the support of MF Dance.

You will become part of a friendly local team across Bristol, Somerset and South Wales, with training, class structures and ongoing support provided.
Job Type: Freelance / Self-Employed (long term)
Hours: Part-Time (2–6) hours per week, starting with a wednesday evening at our estabilshed school, with opportunity in working in schools in the day - lots of opportunity to build and grow hours and income
Pay: Competitive evening rate (based on experience) + performance bonuses + long-term profit share

Wednesdays 5-7.15pm
The Role
You will:
- Teach engaging street dance classes for children aged 3 to 17
- Lead classes confidently and independently
- Create a fun, safe and encouraging atmosphere
- Plan age-appropriate routines and class activities
- Prepare students for performances, showcases and gradings
- Follow the MF Dance curriculum and safeguarding procedures
- Build positive relationships with students and parents
- Help every child feel included, supported and supporting them to thrive and make a real difference in their lives.
- Work alongside junior instructors or class assistants where applicable
The main focus of this role is delivering brilliant dance classes, and developing the younger generation, creating a welcoming and safe environment for every child to be seen and heard.
There may occasionally be opportunities for additional cover, events or classes, but these are not the main requirement of the position.

Essential Requirements
- Experience in street dance, commercial, hip-hop or a similar performance style
- Previous dance teaching, coaching or assisting experience
- Confidence working with groups of children
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Availability for all three weekly teaching evenings
- Willingness to travel between Newport and Bristol (enhanced pay for travel costs)
- An enhanced DBS check, which we can help arrange
First Aid training and safe guarding training will be provided if required, free of charge.
