Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive system architectures that incorporate cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Integrate diverse IT systems using APIs, web services (SOAP, REST), and microservices architectures to enable seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Manage and optimize computer networking components including VPNs, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, and VPN configurations to ensure secure connectivity.
- Implement and maintain virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Kubernetes for efficient resource utilization and deployment automation.
- Develop scripts and automation workflows using Python, Bash shell scripting, PowerShell, and other languages to streamline system administration tasks.
- Conduct system troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and security assessments to uphold information security standards across platforms.
- Collaborate on system design projects involving operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix), database management (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL solutions (MongoDB), and application development frameworks like.NET, Java, Ruby on Rails.
- Support DevOps practices by integrating continuous integration tools like Jenkins and Git for reliable software delivery cycles aligned with SDLC methodologies.
- Assist in the deployment of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and VMware vSphere environments for scalable application hosting.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for system security by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and implementing best practices in information security management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in computer networking including TCP/IP protocols, load balancing techniques, VPN setup, DNS/DHCP management.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure with hands-on experience deploying scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, Ruby on Rails, VBA or Shell Scripting for automation purposes.
- Extensive understanding of operating systems (Windows Server/Linux/Unix) along with system administration skills.
- Experience designing system architectures using service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices frameworks, RESTful APIs and web services (SOAP).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V; containerization tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Ability to work with databases including SQL Server, MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra; knowledge of PL/SQL or T-SQL is a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins or Git for continuous integration/delivery pipelines; experience with SDLC best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on debugging complex systems while maintaining high standards of information security.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical teams and translate complex concepts into understandable terms.
