The Waste Water Adoption Manager is responsible for the adoption of the Waste Water assets on behalf of Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks (AWIN). In this role they will be required to set up, monitor and review processes and procedures ensuring that the adoption can be undertaken in line with statutory and regulatory requirements, company procedures and confirmed designs.
The Waste Water Adoption Manager will be responsible for the inspection, identification and rectification of defects for those assets. Responsibility to confirm that the asset is suitable for adoption and that as-built plans have been received to allow GIS to be updated.
In this role you will…

Technically approve S104 submissions made by the developers to ensure compliance with the Water Industry Act and AWIN`s requirements.

Provide support to the Head of Waste Water on all regional waste water adoption enquiries.

Leading on new assets handover, ensuring all relevant records, agreements and contracts are in place.

To ensure that site inspections and contractor checks are carried out in accordance with the Water Industry Act, the latest edition of the Design and Construction Guidance (DCG) and AWIN requirements.

Work closely and liaise with TCX Business Development Managers and Developers directly, assess the drainage proposals and offer assistance where required to help win new business.

Liaise directly with developers in respect of their proposed developments, offer advice on their drainage proposals and run through AWIN processes.

To advise the developer on legal and technical issues / queries.

Prepare S104 details to forward to Legal to draft the S104 Agreement.

Carry out pre-maintenance inspections, provide snagging lists, organise cctv surveys and carry out final inspections prior to final adoption.

To attend air / water tests on new sewer installations ensuring that they all pass.

To advise on engineering solutions with the developers when any complicated installations arise.

Liaise closely with ground workers and site agents.

To risk assess all situations on site so as not to compromise Health & Safety.

To monitor any new additions to legislation and policies and implement / apply them correctly into AWIN.

Provide information on all sites to enable accurate NAV Applications to be made.

Assess new and innovative materials / ideas and implement and offer as a solution on site providing it does not compromise our position.

Liaise with other water companies on new and proposed inset sites and discuss bulk discharge agreements.
You will need…

Experience of working in the water industry (particularly in waste water)

A good understanding of the regulatory adoption process requirement of waste and surface water assets

Proven track record of the management of contractors

Working familiarity with H&S management and audit

Understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the business and the processes required to be compliant with them

Good computer and reporting skills

Adaptability and an eagerness to learn

The ability to build key relationships with external contractors, developers, consultants and internal customers.

Must have a full, valid UK driving licence
