Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. We support people with Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being in supported living accommodation. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, alongside the ability to perform tasks that may include medication administration and meal preparation.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication records.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to clients' dietary requirements and preferences.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop personalised care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care is required working in mental health and/or Learning Disabilities
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support in assisted living or hospice settings.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings, nights and weekends.
- Relevant qualifications or training in healthcare or social care are required.
