Recently graduated in Sport & Exercise Science and unsure where you want your career to take you?
If you're looking to gain rewarding, hands-on experience while exploring your future career options, this could be the perfect opportunity.
I'm currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join my team and work on a temporary supply basis with Zen Educate in a SEND school in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting children and young people with additional needs while developing skills that are highly transferable into teaching, coaching, and other education-based careers.
The Role
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Newcastle
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Contract: Temporary supply
You'll be supporting primary and secondary-aged learners with a range of complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Working alongside experienced staff, you'll help students engage with learning, build confidence, regulate their emotions, and achieve their individual goals in a supportive SEND environment.
Why This Role?
This position is ideal for Sport & Exercise Science graduates who want to:
- Gain valuable experience working in education before committing to a long-term career path.
- Build confidence supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Develop transferable skills in behaviour management, communication, teamwork, and safeguarding.
- Explore a future in teaching, coaching, youth work, or other education-based professions.
Many of the Sport & Exercise Science graduates I've previously supported have gone on to complete PGCEs and become successful PE teachers. This role provides an excellent stepping stone and gives you meaningful classroom experience that will strengthen future applications.
