Support Worker (Supported Accommodation 16+ / 18+)

Youth Care Ltd provides safe, high-quality supported accommodation for young people aged 16 and over who are preparing for independent living. We are seeking reliable, caring, and motivated Support Workers to join our team in Croydon.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day guidance, encouragement, and emotional support to young people.
- Help residents develop essential life skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining personal routines.
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of young people in line with company policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Keep accurate daily records, handovers, and reports.
- Support residents to attend appointments, activities, and key work sessions.
- Promote independence and positive behaviour through consistent, professional support.
Requirements:
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, or a related field — as required under Ofsted’s Supported Accommodation Regulations (2023).
- At least some prior experience working with young people in supported accommodation, care, or similar environments. (Applicants with minimal experience will be considered if they demonstrate the right attitude and understanding of the role.)
- Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure.
- Enhanced DBS check required prior to employment.
- Must be flexible and available for varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional night work.
Additional Information:
This is a zero-hour contract position. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on service needs and rota availability. Training and ongoing support are provided to ensure staff work confidently and safely within Ofsted-regulated standards.
