About the role
The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and governing the organisation's configuration management processes across products, projects and programmes. The role ensures that product configuration information is accurate, controlled and traceable throughout the lifecycle, supporting engineering, manufacturing, customer delivery and regulatory compliance.
Duties will include;
· Develop, implement and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) for projects and programmes.
· Define and maintain product configuration baselines throughout the product lifecycle
· Ensure configuration identification, status accounting, change control and verification activities are carried out effectively.
· Maintain configuration records, product structures and associated documentation.
· Ensure configuration data remains accurate, complete and auditable.
· Manage the engineering change process from initiation through approval and implementation.
· Coordinate Change Requests (CRs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
· Plan, organise and chair Configuration Control Board meetings.
· Prepare agendas, supporting documentation and decision packs.
· Record decisions, actions and approvals.
About you
You will be able to;
· Demonstrate experience in Configuration Management within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or defence.
· Show solid experience administering formal engineering change processes.
· Demonstrate vast knowledge of ISO 10007, ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
· Be methodical and highly organised with strong attention to detail.
· Be confident facilitator and meeting chair.
· Influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
· Naturally proactive and self-motivated.
· Balance governance requirements with programme delivery.
· Be professional, impartial and objective when managing change.
