We are seeking a reliable and experienced Tipper Driver to join our team. The role would be perfect for someone looking for a quite a flexible role as we might only need you a few times a week to do a few runs for us with our own vehicle. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating tipper to transport and deliver materials across various locations and rubbish runs to tip. This role requires a professional driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and excellent organisational skills to ensure timely deliveries. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the efficient movement of goods while maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Safely operate tipper van to transport materials to designated sites, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tyres, and other essential components
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring securement for safe transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
- Follow all health and safety procedures during operations to minimise risks on the road and at delivery sites
- Assist with the maintenance of the vehicle fleet by reporting any mechanical issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed or tipper vehicles
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating and driving a tipper
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for commercial driving
- Familiarity with loading and securing cargo on flatbed or tipper lorries is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules efficiently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
