Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee our transport operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drivers, vehicles, route planning, and regulatory compliance while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day transport operations of the business.
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, and health and safety regulations.
- Plan and optimise vehicle schedules and delivery routes to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and servicing programmes.
- Manage driver performance, training, and compliance with company policies.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Control transport budgets and monitor operational costs.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Produce transport reports and analyse performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Transport Manager or similar transport operations role.
- Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification is essential.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, drivers' hours, and vehicle compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- HGV licence would be an advantage
Pay: £42,900.00 per year
