OVERVIEW
Vimpex is hiring a Warehouse Operative. The warehouse currently operates one shift from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30, with 30 minutes for lunch. The Warehouse Operative position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
The role is cross-trained across all warehouse functions, with a primary focus on material movement and control.
The role will encompass the following:
- Picking sales and works orders and confirming picks on the ERP system
- Replenishing pick locations from bulk stock
- Running the cycle count programme and investigating discrepancies
- Booking in deliveries and putting stock away correctly
- Packing, labelling and despatching customer orders
- Goods-in inspection and quarantine control
- Assisting in Production as required, including kitting material, labelling, general assembly, quality checks and product testing
- Using company ERP software
EDUCATION
No formal qualifications are required. Full training is provided.
SKILLS
We would expect the candidate to have and be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Accurate and methodical, with good attention to detail
- Honest reporting of problems and discrepancies
- Comfortable with everyday computer use and handheld scanners
- Capable of following written procedures
- Reliable attendance and timekeeping
- Previous warehouse experience, ERP/WMS experience or a forklift licence would be advantageous, but none are essential
