About Newcode
Newcode provides industrial coding, labelling and vision-inspection systems to customers across the food, beverage, packaging and manufacturing industries.
Our vision systems use industrial cameras to inspect products and packaging, verify dates and batch codes, read barcodes, check labels and identify production errors.
The role
We are looking for a technically minded person to install, configure, service and support industrial vision systems at customer sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing and commissioning industrial cameras and vision systems
- Setting up cameras, lighting, lenses, sensors and triggers
- Configuring inspections for dates, codes, barcodes, labels and product features
- Connecting systems to printers, conveyors and production-line controls
- Attending breakdowns and diagnosing technical faults
- Supporting software, electrical and networking issues
- Completing planned maintenance and system checks
- Training customers on equipment operation
- Providing excellent customer service and completing service reports

Relevant degree subjects include:
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Automation and Control Engineering
- Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Robotics Engineering
- Computer Vision or Image Processing
- Computer Science or Software Engineering
Previous machine-vision or field-service experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. Comprehensive technical and product training will be provided.
The ideal candidate
You should have:
- A practical interest in cameras, automation, software and engineering
- Good technical problem-solving skills
- Basic IT, software and networking knowledge
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to work independently
- A willingness to travel and stay away from home
- A full UK driving licence
Travel and benefits
- Most travel is within approximately three hours of your home
- Travel time is paid door-to-door
- One to two overnight stays per week on average

- Approximately £45,000 OTE, including overtime
- Weekend on-call rota once every five to six weeks
