Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Do you believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive? We're looking for passionate, resilient and motivated individuals to join our Early Help team in Scarborough as Children & Families Workers.
About the service
Early Help is part of North Yorkshire Council’s Children & Families Service where we work alongside children, young people aged 0 – 19 (25 years when there is an identified SEND need) and their families. We are a consent-based service focused on offering “the right support at the right time”.
No two days are the same. One day you could be helping a family build confidence and resilience, and the next you could be working alongside partners to create meaningful support that helps children achieve positive outcomes.
About the Role
As a Children & Families Worker, you will work directly with children, young people and their families, helping them recognise their strengths, overcome challenges and build lasting support networks. You'll be part of a service that believes in providing the right support at the right time, working collaboratively with families to create sustainable plans for change.
Our work is underpinned by our Strength in Relationships practice model, placing relationships, partnership working and family strengths at the heart of everything we do.
Why Join Us?
This is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to:
- Make a lasting difference to the lives of children, young people and their families
- Work directly with families, helping them achieve positive and sustainable change
- Collaborate with a wide range of professionals to coordinate effective support
- Join a supportive, experienced and welcoming team
- Develop your skills through excellent training and professional development opportunities
- Build a rewarding career within North Yorkshire's Children and Families Service
What We're Looking For
Are you: -
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and families
- Experienced in working with children and young people
- Able to build positive relationships and engage families effectively
- Resilient, compassionate and solution-focused
- Confident in working as part of a team while managing your own caseload
Then we’d like to hear from you.
This is a particularly exciting time to join North Yorkshire's Children and Young People's Service as we prepare for the implementation of the Families First Partnership Programme and wider social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of early help services and supporting families across the County.
