Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care (Borehamwood)
£15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Shifts covering long days - Tuesday and Thursday

Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently, and with dignity in their own home.

About the Client
Service user aged 7 girl. She has a small dog – cockapoo that is in the house – sleeps downstairs in a crate.
Other information: The family are practicing Jews and so you are unable to communicate with them on the Sabbath.
Holidays: MK goes away twice a year to Israel and likes the staff to come away.
Clinical Requirements
Staff should have specialist expertise in supporting individuals with:
Experience working with children- Attends school so carers need to attend to school every day and collect her. Also, available to collect if there is a medical emergency at school.
- Drivers would be preferred but not essential
- Cerebral palsy
- Epilepsy
- Non-verbal
- Wheelchair dependant
- Orally fed
- Brain injury experience
- Following a cardiac arrest at 2.5 weeks, an admission to hospital with D and V and drip not put up to correct fluid balance. Nb was a milk allergy.
Shifts Available
We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.
Day shifts – 08:15am to 20:30pm
(Monday and Tuesday)
What the Role Involves
Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home- Comforting the client when unsettled
- Supporting with community access and social activities
- Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
- Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
- Communicating effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams
Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children with complex care needs.- Strong communication and reliability, with the ability to build trusting relationships with both clients and their guardians.
- Empathy, emotional intelligence, and person-centred values
- Ability to work independently and professionally
