Ipswich Borough Council are looking for an experienced, proactive, and highly organised Business Support Manager to lead our business support function that supports Tenancy Services, Housing Options and Public Protection.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives on improving processes, supporting teams, and ensuring that operational and administrative services run smoothly and efficiently.
As Business Support Manager, you will provide operational leadership to a team of Business Support Officers and Systems Administrators. You will play a key role in ensuring effective administrative services, maintaining and developing specialist IT systems, managing business processes, supporting organisational priorities, and driving continuous improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include:

leading and developing a high-performing business support team
-
managing administrative and business support functions supporting Tenancy Services, Housing Options and Public Protection
-
maintaining and developing specialist IT systems used by Tenancy Services, Housing Options and Public Protection
-
reviewing and improving systems, processes, and ways of working
-
monitoring performance and ensuring service standards are achieved
-
supporting Heads of Service and Managers with operational planning and delivery
-
ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
-
building positive relationships with stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who:
-
is educated to HND/NVQ5 level + 3 years’ experience in relevant field
-
has significant experience in business support, administration, or operational management
-
has proven leadership and people management skills
-
has strong organisational and project management abilities
-
has experience of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
-
has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
has strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
-
has confidence in using business systems
-
has a commitment to continuous improvement and customer-focused service delivery.
