About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and finished goods throughout the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for goods receiving, stock management, material movements, and supporting production and dispatch activities.
The role requires an experienced forklift truck operator who can work safely, accurately, and as part of a busy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, ensuring goods match purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Safely unload vehicles using a forklift truck and other appropriate equipment.
- Sort, label, and store goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and release materials accurately to support production requirements.
- Transfer finished goods from production areas to the warehouse and loading bays.
- Prepare goods for dispatch and assist with loading outbound vehicles.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of low stock or replenishment needs.
- Maintain accurate stock records and support stock-taking activities.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Carry out routine warehouse checks and report any issues or damaged stock.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse function.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the business.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Proven forklift operating experience.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, stores, or logistics environment.
- Good understanding of stock control and material handling procedures.
- Ability to work safely and follow health and safety regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties when required.
Desirable
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations.
- Counterbalance and/or reach truck certification.
