Job Title: KS3 & GCSE MATHS Tutor
No. of hours : 6-10hours a week evening and weekends
Pay : £14.00 per hour plus holiday pay
Purpose of the post:
Essential Requirement: This is an opportunity for a degree student with a background in at least A level Maths OR Equivalent ( Simmilar subjects may be considered). Candidate ideally needs to live local or easily commute. Candidate must be able to work at least 1 weekend
Saturday or Sunday 10:00-6:00pm and ideally wednesday evening 4:00-7:30pm.
To efficiently deliver a tuition program. Help build pupil’s confidence and knowledge using the Smart Kid’s method.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver the Smart kid’s tuition program in the classroom for pupils up to the age of 11 for KS3 and GCSE.
- Identify/assess the needs of learners and if necessary, adapt course, content and delivery style to meet these needs.
- To attend Pupil Review meetings & training days in which the tutor is completely accountable for the pupil’s progress.
- To fill in monthly reports for each pupil every month
- To daily tidy up the classrooms and the centre
- To treat learners with respect, care, and dignity in an environment in which a diversity of backgrounds and experience is valued.
- Work within the Health and Safety Requirements of Ofsted and Smart Kids Policies.
- To carry out any other duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the needs of the Smart Kids Centre and therefore to undertake any other duties compatible with the post as required.
- Maintain contact with your manager, and inform her immediately of any changes, or significant problems.

· Able to lead a small group of pupils in an informal but structured way.
· Good Communication Skills

· Able to motivate students and encourage participation.
· Able to manage administrative tasks effectively.
· Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Smart Kids Tutoring.
· Confident and enthusiastic.
· Prepared to work hard.
· Able to work as part of a team.
· Able to motivate students with little confidence.
· Some teaching or group work experience, preferably with children (although preferred not essential).
· Evidence of competence to undertake a tutor training
