Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for our clients' NDT and Quality equipment and systems. Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and diagnostics of equipment to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, calibrations and upgrades on various technical systems and machinery.
- Install new equipment and ensure it operates optimally according to specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
- Document service activities accurately, including reports on calibrations, repairs, parts used, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Collaborate with the OEM parent company, sales and engineering teams to develop customised solutions tailored to client needs.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and health & safety regulations during all service activities.
- Respond promptly to service calls, prioritising urgent issues to minimise downtime.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
- Strong understanding of IT, mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems relevant to the industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and trouble shooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel frequently for on-site service calls.
- Nice-to-have: recognised technical qualifications or certifications relevant to the field (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
