Job Summary
To support the efficient delivery of arable operations by coordinating crop production administration, maintaining accurate operational and compliance records, facilitating agronomic planning, and acting as a key point of contact for landlords, contractors, agronomists, growers, and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and provide operational and administrative support to the Arable Team for feedstock production and procurement across two anaerobic digestion (AD) sites, overseeing large-scale farming operations growing maize, sugar beet, and wholecrop forage to produce feedstock annually.
- Coordinate with agronomists, contractors and the inputs team to ensure effective crop management, monitoring and recording daily field operations across the farmed area.
- Liaise with agricultural contractors to coordinate drilling, spraying, harvesting and cultivation operations, ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Raise purchase orders for all crop inputs, including seed, fertiliser and agrochemicals, while monitoring crop expenditure to maintain budget control and maximise cost efficiency.
- Manage land acquisition and access arrangements, working independently and with land agents to secure and oversee Farm Business Tenancies (FBTs), Contract Farming Agreements (CFAs) and annual cropping licences, ensuring land availability meets feedstock requirements.
- Evaluate sites for field clamp suitability in accordance with Environment Agency regulations and best practice, preparing and submitting permit applications where required, and monitoring application progress through to approval to ensure compliance and operational timelines are met.
- Oversee Red Tractor audits, maintaining compliance with certification standards, implementing corrective actions and ensuring audit-ready documentation.
- Maintain accurate TELUS Farm Management and Trimble records, including field setup, mapping and input data collation to support annual auditing and operational reporting.
- Create and maintain detailed grower agreements, recording contacts, cropping areas, pricing structures and contractual terms.
- Work with the administration team to manage harvest data from contractors and weighbridges, ensuring accurate records to support stock management, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Act as the key liaison between the Arable Team, wider business functions and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination of operational activities.
- Provide executive support to the Arable Director by drafting letters and formal correspondence, preparing meeting documentation, recording and distributing meeting minutes.
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
