Experienced Carpenter / Joiner – Social Housing
We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join our team working across social housing properties.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience within the social housing or refurbishment sector and be confident delivering high-quality workmanship to a professional standard.
The role will involve working in both occupied and void properties, so professionalism, reliability, cleanliness and attention to detail are essential.
Bathroom Installation – Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Aquaboard panels within bathroom areas
- Pipe boxing and finishing to a high standard
- Studding out walls for shower service areas
- Installing studwork for bath panels
- Boarding walls
- Fitting skirting boards and window boards
- Replacing and upgrading main door handles
- Working to required quality and safety standards
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
Kitchen Fitting – Key Responsibilities
- Fitting kitchens in accordance with Birmingham specification
- Working accurately from measurements, plans and specifications
- Adjusting and modifying kitchen carcasses where required
- Creating bespoke solutions to accommodate water meters and stop taps
- Neatly and professionally boxing in pipework
- Replacing kitchen door handles
- Fitting skirting boards
- Installing window boards
- Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment, particularly within occupied properties
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter / Joiner
- Previous experience working on social housing projects is preferred
- Valid trade-specific Blue CSCS Card – essential
- Valid UKATA or IATP Asbestos Awareness certificate – essential
- Strong knowledge of bathroom installations, studwork and boarding
- Experience fitting kitchens to specification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Professional and reliable approach
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Ability to work respectfully within occupied properties
