Mercato Italiano is an independent Italian restaurant, deli and cocktail bar in Bridport, Dorset, built around direct-imported produce from Italy. We are looking for an experienced Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is a hands-on role in a busy open kitchen environment. We are looking for someone confident working service independently, who takes pride in consistency, pace and quality.
Responsibilities include preparing and stretching pizza dough by hand, managing the pizza section during lunch and evening service, monitoring dough fermentation and prep levels, maintaining high food hygiene standards, and working closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver consistent service.
Applicants should have previous experience working as a pizza chef, be comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and understand dough handling, fermentation and pizza oven operation. Reliability, organisation and good communication are essential.
The role includes a mixture of daytime prep and evening service shifts, with weekend availability required. Competitive pay depending on experience.
Pay: £15.00 per hour
