Residential Family Support Worker (AD-Hoc Shifts)
Location: Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £15.50 per hour (PAYE Day Rate) | £17.00 per hour (PAYE Night Rate)
Contract: Temporary

Shift Pattern
The role operates on a rota system, with shifts including:
- 7:00am – 2:00pm
- 7:00am – 5:00pm
- 11:00am – 9:15pm
- 2:00pm – 9:15pm
- 5:00pm – 9:15pm
- 9:00pm – 7:00am
- 9:00pm – 9:00am
Sleep-in shifts may also be included as part of the rota.
Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Residential Family Support Worker to join a specialist Family Assessment Centre in Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled family support professional who is passionate about helping parents develop their skills and improve outcomes for children.
Working within a residential family assessment setting, you will provide practical and emotional support to families during a structured assessment period. You will work alongside experienced Social Workers and a wider team to help assess parenting capacity, promote positive change, and support families with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to families living within a residential assessment setting.
- Work alongside parents to develop and strengthen their parenting skills.
- Support families through a 12-week assessment programme, contributing observations and feedback to inform court reports.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with parents and children while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Support families with routines, child development, communication, and safe parenting practices.
- Observe family interactions and provide accurate information to support assessments.
- Work closely with Social Workers and other professionals involved in the assessment process.
- Provide practical guidance and emotional support to families experiencing vulnerability and complex circumstances.
- Maintain accurate records, daily notes, and reports in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and families.
Applicant Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g. Children and Families, Health & Social Care, Childcare, or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Experience supporting families with complex needs, vulnerability, or safeguarding concerns.
- Understanding of parenting support, child development, and family dynamics.
- Ability to work as part of a residential rota system, including evenings, nights, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with families while maintaining professional boundaries.
