Stores Person
Location: Kelso, Scottish Borders
Salary: £13.45 per hour, increasing to £13.95 per hour following successful completion of a 3-month probation
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

My client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Kelso, is looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Person to join their team.

Please note, a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and kit components to support production teams
- Prepare, pack and check customer orders ready for dispatch
- Receive incoming deliveries, checking quantities against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies
- Safely load and unload vehicles using a counterbalance forklift
- Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
- Keep the stores area clean, organised and operating efficiently
- Work closely with colleagues across production and warehouse departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, manufacturing or logistics environment
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining stock accuracy
- The ability to work efficiently in a physically active role
- A proactive, reliable approach with a strong work ethic
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience using an ERP or stock management system
- Knowledge of goods-in/goods-out processes within a manufacturing environment
