About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Semi-Senior Accountant to join our practice based in Honley on a full-time basis (working hours to be discussed).
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with solid practice experience who is looking for their next step within a supportive and growing team. The successful candidate will have experience preparing accounts and tax returns, managing client relationships, and working independently across a varied portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of accounts for limited companies and sole traders
- Corporation Tax returns
- Self-Assessment Tax Returns, Making Tax Digital submissions and management reports (experience would be advantageous)
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconciling balance sheet items
- Bookkeeping duties
- Liaising with clients on a regular basis
What We’re Looking For:
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- 3+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Experience managing accounts preparation from start to finish
- Experience dealing directly with clients and managing deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero (preferred but not essential)
