Join Peak Fitness from the beginning
Peak Fitness is a brand-new gym opening in Hailsham, and we are looking for an experienced, motivated and professional Gym Manager to take a leading role in launching and developing the facility.
This is not simply a position managing an established gym. You will be involved from the outset, helping to organise the gym's opening, establish systems and procedures, build the team and create the culture and standards that Peak Fitness will become known for.
We are looking for someone who can take genuine ownership of the day-to-day operation and help us build a successful, welcoming and professionally run fitness facility.
The Role
As Gym Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the initial set-up and launch of the new gym
- Managing the day-to-day operation of Peak Fitness
- Recruiting, supporting and managing gym staff
- Developing staff rotas and ensuring suitable staffing levels
- Maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Supporting membership growth and member retention
- Managing new member enquiries and inductions
- Ensuring gym equipment and facilities are maintained correctly
- Monitoring cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility
- Promoting a positive and welcoming gym environment
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
- Managing incidents, complaints and customer queries professionally
- Supporting marketing, promotions and local engagement
- Monitoring performance and helping develop the business
- Leading by example and maintaining high professional standards
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised Level 3 Personal Training qualification or equivalent
- Hold an appropriate Level 2 Gym/Fitness Instructor qualification
- Have previous experience working within a gym or fitness environment
- Have previous supervisory, management or team-leadership experience
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Be confident managing and motivating staff
- Be organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Have a good understanding of gym health and safety
- Be confident dealing with members and resolving problems
- Be comfortable using membership, booking and general computer systems
- Be flexible regarding working hours where required
- Be able to reliably commute to Hailsham, East Sussex
A current First Aid qualification would be highly desirable.
