Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. This is a temporary position to cover an absence. Ideally we would like someone to work fulltime hours but this is negotiable. The length of the contract is also flexible depending on the successful individuals personal circumstances. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during patient treatments, ensuring high standards of patient care, and maintaining a smooth clinical environment. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials before appointments
- Provide high-quality patient care, including explaining procedures and answering queries
- Sterilise and maintain dental instruments in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Record patient information accurately using IT systems and update medical records as required
- Support patients throughout their visit, offering reassurance and clear communication
- Manage appointment scheduling and organise clinical supplies to ensure efficiency
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment
Experience
- Previous experience working clinically in a dental setting is essential
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for effective patient interaction
- Basic IT literacy is required for managing electronic health records and scheduling systems
- Proven organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy practice environment
- Compassionate approach with excellent patient care skills, demonstrating professionalism at all times
- Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive work atmosphere
