SEN Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School Haringey | £100 - £120 per day | Full-Time | Term Time Only Experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant Required
A well-established Secondary SEN School in Haringey is seeking an experienced and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant to support students with Complex Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Challenging Behaviour, and Additional Complex Needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and has previous experience working within an SEN School, PRU, Alternative Provision, Residential Care, Youth Work, or a similar specialist setting.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting secondary-aged students with Complex Autism (ASD) and severe learning needs
- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
- Managing challenging and dysregulated behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence and life skills development
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Supporting students throughout the school day, including break and lunch periods
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH, SLD, or complex needs
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confident working with students who may become dysregulated
- Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
