The main responsibility of the job is to provide first and second line IT support to our London schools and central trust office. You will be based at the central trust office in Hammersmith and work alongside one other IT support engineer, Eduthing (MSP), and the Operations Manager.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As well as the day to day support you will also be expected to be involved with project work ensuring that solutions are implemented, and project delivery dates met.
We are looking for someone that has an interest in trouble shooting to find a solution and someone who is committed.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of user devices, ensuring they are maintained and managed correctly.
- Management of mobile devices via JamF
- Providing high-quality technical support, advice and guidance to staff, students and trainee teachers
- Ensuring all IT issues that can’t be resolved by the on-site IT team are escalated to our MSP.
- Maintenance of all virtual and physical networking infrastructure.
- Ensure the ticket system is maintained and staff use the ticket system for logging IT related queries.
- Provisioning of IT accounts for staff and pupils.
- Maintaining all computer, AV, and other tech equipment across the schools.
- Administration of the Office365 tenancy
- Make suggestions for improvements to the infrastructure and day to day practices.
- Maintaining and updating the asset registers
- Creating documentation and ensuring IT SharePoint areas are well maintained.
- Holiday checks on classroom equipment and other supporting technology equipment / infrastructure.
- Support the aims, values, mission, and ethos of the school and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life.
- Ensuring that any impact on teaching and learning is dealt with immediately.
- Communication with key stakeholders and IT manager.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings as required and identify areas of personal practice and experience to develop.
- Being available to resolve other technical issues as directed by the IT Manager

Your training plan
The classroom training for the Information Communications Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
The modules taught are:
- Network Fundamentals
- Mobility and Operating Systems
- Cloud Fundamentals
- IT Business Principles
Each module is delivered remotely over five consecutive days, with the training weeks scheduled at intervals throughout the apprenticeship.

- We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider. We provide apprenticeships for a wide range of employers, large and small.
- Some of your working hours will be spent training or studying with your appointed JBC Trainer/Mentor or your employer. Learning the skills you need to be successful in the role and complete the apprenticeship.
- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio.

After this apprenticeship
The company aims to offer the apprentice a permanent role at the end of the training (subject to successfully completing course and objectives.)
