Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the team in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Help organise ingredients and kitchen supplies to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Supervise junior staff where necessary, providing guidance and leadership during shifts
- Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in tasting sessions
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet service times during busy periods
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to guests when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Previous restaurant experience or culinary training is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Passion for hospitality, food presentation, and continuous learning in culinary arts
Pay: £24,420.00-£37,999.85 per year
