Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Water Metering Gang to join our team in Cambridge. This role involves the installation of water meters within the Cambridge water region. The successful gang will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring accurate water metering and efficient service delivery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in utility services and practical technical work.
These installs are on the private boundary of customers, so attention to detail is important. This includes dig, install, backfill and reinstate. Work is bundled together, so 5-7 boxes a day is accurate. Only private digs.
All van, tools and equipment provided, along with uniform.
Must have Blue card, SHEA water (both) and streetworks Ops (1 team member), as part of the 2 man team.
Desirable - Cat1 and Cat2, first aid at work.
Duties
- Install new boundary boxes and water meters at designated sites throughout Cambridge.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out installation and repair tasks efficiently.
- Assist in the upgrading and replacement of outdated or faulty meters.
- Document work activities accurately and report any anomalies or issues encountered during tasks.
- Follow health and safety guidelines strictly during all operations to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience with box bashing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in technical maintenance tasks.
- Practical mechanical knowledge, with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions across different locations in Cambridge.
- A valid driving licence is preferred, as travel between sites may be required.

Pay: £500.00-£840.00 per day
